Jakarta Archery Wins Three Gold in Popnas XVI

Archery athletes from Jakarta successfully won three gold medals at the Popnas XVI in Palembang, South Sumatra.

Our target is only two gold

Jakarta Archery Team Manager, Amalia Chrisna Damayanti said gold medals were won through the Compound Mixed Team (Ghaisan Dhiya and Saiyllah Umairah), Recurve Women Team (Yurisa Zafira Adelia, Ghaida Aqila Nafiah, and Aisha Larasati Azzahra), as well as Compound Women Team (Amira Keshia Nariswari Indraputri, Saiyllah Umairah, and Danish Shakilla Putri Nadia).

"Our target is only two gold. Alhamdulillah (Thank God), we can even win three gold or exceed the target. Moreover, since 2016, Jakarta has never won gold at Popnas," she expressed, Sunday (9/3).

She explained Jakarta archery athletes also managed to win silver medals through Yurisa Zafira Adelia in the Women's Recurve Individual Elimination number and Ferza Ilham Yudhantara Wijoyo in the Men's Recurve Individual Elimination number.

"Then the bronze medal was won by Kholid Khoiry in the Men's Compound Individual Elimination number and through the Compound Men Team number through Ghaisan Dhiya, Kholid Khoiry, and Keivan Dwi Aditya," she explained.

She appreciated their cohesiveness and solidity in achieving good results at Popnas XVI.

"I only approached the team three weeks before departure. They are solid and fight together to perform the best performance. The possibility of winning a medal is still there because today the archery competition just ended," she added.

She added that the Jakarta archery sport sent nine male and nine female athletes plus four team officials to participate in Popnas XVI.

"Once again I express my gratitude to God and express my gratitude to the Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency, coaches, athletes, and all those who have supported and prayed for archery achievements," she admitted.

She asked athletes who have yet to achieve medals to remain optimistic and continue to practice actively. Including those who have won medals, they need to keep training diligently to represent Indonesia in international competitions.

"Execute all the stages correctly and with enthusiasm. Insya Allah (God willing), what you aspire to will later be achieved," she closed.
